English Language Faculty teach the same number of hours in summer quarter…yet they are paid 19% less than any other quarter. In the second half of September we simply don’t get a paycheck!
In July of 2013, all UW bargaining units received raises. In September of 2013, all non-union professional staff and regular faculty received raises. English Language Faculty is the only group at the UW which has not received a raise.
English Language Faculty has been negotiating with UW for almost two years now without coming to agreement.
Student tuition in International and English Language Programs has increased every year by 3-4% yet the English Language Faculty received 0% raise.
